VILLACHTHE COLOURS OF THE SOUTH

DOCUMENTARY / A 2010 / DIGI BETA / 45 MIN
A Film by Klaus Steindl

SYNOPSIS

Like no other area in Austria, the Villach region has a southern, almost Mediterranean flair. This in not merely coincidental: The region is located in the southernmost part of the country and is the gateway to neighbouring Italy and Slovenia. Southern also means an increase in the number of sunny hours: Around 2100 hours during the year the sun shines brightly here. And it conjures up the most beautiful colours: The sunlight bathes both people and landscape in a sea of colours and presents them in all their splendour.

The documentary catches these colours and with them throws light on the various facets of the region. It starts with the landscape, the flora and fauna, continues with the residents and goes on up to the cultural diversity. It presents the exciting as well as crazy story of people who live here and symbolize the area.
